Leadership

Pastor Matt and Alli Vandersteen are passionate about helping people come to Jesus and to keep taking steps in their relationship with Him. Pastor Matt graduated from Evangel University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Pastor Matt and Alli are highly relational and lead from that place. They love building teams, living and serving alongside others, and not letting anyone do ministry alone.  They want to help the body of Christ believe in and chase God-size dreams together: dreams only God can get the glory for!

Pastor Amanda oversees executive operations at Bethany. 

Pastor Eric leads our Next Steps and Outreach ministries. He loves to see non believers, new believers, and members grow in their faith.  Care is an essential part of his ministry and heart. Pastor Eric has been credentialed with the Assemblies of God since 2001.  He and His wife Darlene have 3 kids.  Outside of church you will likely catch Eric at his kids events, spending time with people or riding his motorcycle.   

Pastor Payton serves as the Community Life Pastor, overseeing Bethany communities and helping people find connection, purpose, and spiritual growth. He is passionate about seeing individuals come to know God personally and live for Him daily, building lives rooted in faith and authentic community. He loves his wife Carleigh and his cat Willy, and in his free time he loves playing sports and collecting sports cards.

Pastor Meghan oversees worship through the arts and music at Bethany. She has a B.A. in Ministry Leadership and an M.A. in Practical Theology. She also trained for two years at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. She is passionate about guiding people through encounters with God that transform them inwardly and outwardly.

Pastor Bryce oversees student ministry at Bethany (6th-12th grade). He loves his wife Anna and daughter Emmi most of all, but also specialty coffee, sports, and DIY projects. Bryce is passionate about seeing students make friends, find mentors, live on mission, and have encounters with Jesus. He believes this will cultivate a lasting faith in Jesus for students that goes beyond high school.

Pastor Carleigh serves as our Bethany Kids Pastor and is passionate about helping children know and experience the love of Jesus in a real and lasting way! She is married to her husband, Payton, and is a proud cat mom to Willy. Outside of ministry, Carleigh enjoys a good cup of coffee and never turns down ice cream.

Anthony Moore serves as the Director of Young Adults (ages 18–29) and Sunday Experience at Bethany Assembly. He is passionate about creating environments that cultivate the presence of the Holy Spirit and invite people into a deeper, everyday relationship with Jesus. Anthony is married to his wife, Bella, and in his free time enjoys wood carving, film photography, and working on his old car.

Sarah oversees communications at Bethany. She is kind-hearted and passionate about seeing the lost become found in Christ and welcomed into a loving community. She and her husband, Brandon, have two children— Madelyn and Max. As a family, they love vacationing throughout Michigan, especially along Lake Michigan and in the Upper Peninsula. The Adrian Maples are a big part of their lives as they support athletics, the arts, and more. They also never turn down a good family game night!

Pastor Tim serves as Bethany’s Facility Pastor, focusing on campus stewardship, team development, and creating spaces that support ministry and community life. He brings many years of experience serving churches and nonprofits in a variety of roles, and he is passionate about building environments where families and generations can thrive. He lives in Clayton, MI with his wife, Shelly, and their son, James. In his spare time, Tim enjoys woodworking and caring for their small homestead. 

Pastor Ron is a long time partner & Staff Pastor at Bethany Assembly. His wife Gin, two adult kids, their spouses and five grandkids are his pride and joy. Pastor Ron oversees our Senior Adult ministry, benevolence, & pastoral care. His heart beat is to assist people in taking steps closer to Jesus & in their pursuit
of God. He loves to ride his Harley while worshipping Jesus.

Jessica is the Director of Bethany Kids Learning Center. She has a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Development with a minor in Psychology. She has a heart for quality care and education for children. Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.
