What happens if it rains on Egg Hunt day?
If there is a misting or very light drizzle, the egg hunt will proceed as planned. If there is rain, we will wait indoors until it is finished before dismissing people to the field.
Do I need to Check-In?
Before 9:45 AM or 1:45 PM, yes, in order to receive your egg bags for your kids. After 9:45 AM or 1:45 PM, no – you may wait outside and get a kids bags from an Egg Zone supervisor.
What is the Pre-Party?
The Pre-Party is an event in the Sanctuary that keeps kids engaged and entertained while we wait for the hunt to start. Parents can join in the fun too! We also have the pre-party streamed live into the Event Center, so you can see what is going on before heading in.
Where do I stand outside?
There is a spectator area between both of the preschool/adaptive fields and the elementary fields – you can see it on the map in your egg hunt bag. Look for the large trash cans out in the fields. If you have children of multiple ages, you may choose one field to put all your children in.
Can my kids go to the same field?
Yes! Parents may pick a field to keep siblings together; keep in mind that fields for older children are more competitive and smaller children might not get many eggs. If you choose a field for younger children, please make sure your older children are careful around smaller children.
What is the Adaptive Field? Who is it for?
The adaptive field is for people of ALL AGES who have ANY DISABILITY – it is inclusive, so siblings or infants/toddlers are welcome too. “Adaptive” means that the person with a disability is empowered to assist him- or herself. It is one step up from “accessible.” By using hay bales with eggs on top, we are enabling people with disabilities to truly interact with the egg hunt by themselves. By putting bales on the east drive, which is paved, we are making the adaptive field accessible to people with mobility impairments.
What if my child doesn’t get many eggs?
If your child has a hard time gathering eggs, you may go to the Adaptive Field or Guest Check-In – we have tubs of “spare” eggs for children who couldn’t gather very many.
What is Egg Return? Do I have to return the eggs?
Egg Return is a place you can go to ask questions or get help. It’s also where we collect egg shells (blue bins) and trash after the hunt is over. You do not have to return your plastic eggs, but please make sure to open them before you leave!
How may I collect a prize?
Take the prize ticket from inside the egg to the church carport. The volunteer at the table will help you to pick the prize from the table that goes with the ticket you found. We will not give away prizes after the event is finished.
